2009, the year that I became me again...

Hey Internet!

So...sitting here with my mother, I cannot help but reflect on the last year. (as I am sure you all have been doing, it just is a part of New Years) When I do this, I cannot help but smile. I think, 'am I at all different?' or 'what have I learned this year that I didn't know last year?' or "am I even the same person?'. To be honest, I don't really know the answer...

Did I learn anything? Of course. I learned how to properly use a twitter account...how to convert and edit video from my flip cam (youtube.com/user/broadwayjessica)...how to do something for me. (the last one is the most significant) A year ago I don't think I would have had the motivation or courage to do what I have done in the last year. This time last year I was broken...hurt by a guy who valued me so little as to cheat on me. Looking back, I am glad that it happened...if I had not gone through that heartache and that growth (with the help of my friend, Sean!) I wouldn't have had the push that I needed to apply for the college program or to especially audition for an entertainment role. I recently made it a point to thank this ex-boyfriend for that motivation (I know you think I am crazy for this), but I really do appreciate it now. I mean, if it weren't for his idiotic mistake I would never have met my new boyfriend (who I adore!).

DISNEY WATCH: So I have 20 days until move in...I CAN'T WAIT!!! Each day I get more and more excited...I almost want to cry! I can't believe that it is already here!!! OH! I recently heard that Cinderella Castle is going under renovation and I was like...?!?!?!?!? I am kinda disappointed, I mean, when I get there...Cinderella Castle is going to be all 'under construction-y' and not as pretty...this saddens me. :( I heard that it should be done in early March which actually makes me smile because my 21st birthday is around then...so I see it as kind of a birthday present for me :)!!!!

Have a fabulous new year!!! My love to all of your families and friends!

Just a small town girl...

Hey internet,

So I have been in Missouri for about a week and a half...surprisingly, I am not irritated with it. When I was growing up I used to hate this place, but now I can appreciate the simplicity of Rolla. I have to say that my vlog about it is probably the best one so far... I am very proud of my newly acquired editing skills (Thanks, babe)!!! Christmas under the bean...

Hey internet,

So yesterday, about 22 former and future CPs gathered in Millennium Park in Chicago under the bean. Now, you all know how much I would love to sit here and expel every detail of the trip...however, I am currently editing a vlog of the day that can be seen here (youtube.com/user/broadwayjessica) once I upload them in the next few days. Since I love you all, though, I will give you the abridged version... So, after getting extremely lost, John, Jake and I arrived at Millennium Park and joined the large group of CPers. From then, we took some pictures under the bean and then headed to lunch at Dick's Last Resort. We then took a nice walk to Navy Pier and had an EPIC adventure! Unfortunately though, we had to part ways :( It was very sad to part from my D-Fam, but now I can say that I have 21 new best friends! John, Jake and I spent the night in Chicago and then headed back to St. Louis this morning...Successful event? Worth it? I think...YES!

Don't rain on my parade...

Hey internet,

Have you ever been floating on a cloud, so happy that you feel as though nothing could bring you down? Then a rain cloud comes along and soaks you to the bone...well I am on the cloud and my family is the rain cloud...I suppose that conditions are never perfect, there is always something that is less than ideal, but one thing I have learned is that even though their negativity is rain on my parade, sometimes you just have to learn to dance in the rain!

Ending a chapter...

Hey internet,

So, I moved out of my college apartment about a week ago, but I have not stopped thinking about it since then. Every day I wake up expecting to be in my apartment, instead, I am at my mother's apartment. I suppose I am still in shock, thinking that at the end of the break I will go back to my 3 bedroom in Emmitsburg. Moving to Disney seems almost seems unreal or like a distant dream. I am guessing that until night 3 of being there I will still feel this way. I mean, who gets this chance, seriously? Thinking about it makes me miss my friends dearly. Knowing that I never plan to step foot on the Mount campus is strange to me...I mean, I suppose that once you spend 2 1/2 years somewhere, it kind of becomes part of who you are. I have taken so many steps outside of my comfort zone this semester that it feels strange. First, I decided that I was leaving college for a semester to live and work in Disney World; then I decided that I am not going to law school and I am going to study music and theatre; then I decided that I am transferring...could I have possibly turned my life upside down anymore??? :)

First time for everything...

Hey internet!

So, I suppose that introductions are in order...I am Jessica and I am participating in the Disney College Program for Spring Advantage 2010! Up to this point I have been recording my experiences through vlogs on youtube (www.youtube.com/user/broadwayjessica), but I recent realized that I am not always able to upload episodes because of limited internet access. (sad face) So...since this is the case, I will use this blog to talk about things a bit more casually. About me: I am a junior in college, but am looking to transfer down to UCF after my program. I am a trained singer, dancer, and actress and in recent months have been getting gigs in NYC as a comedian. (I don't know how the hell this happened, I didn't think I was really that funny, witty yes, but not funny) My role in Disney is a character performer :) which I am extremely excited about! My experience with fellow CPers thus far has been nothing short of amazing! Everyone is fantastic! I can't wait to get to FL and meet everyone! (Unless you are going to Christmas Under the Bean, then I will see you on Monday :)) Please subscribe to my show on youtube and follow me on twitter! (www.twitter.com/funnyjessica) Also, if you have any ideas of topics for my blog or vlog, please e-mail me! (broadwayjessica@gmail.com) Just so you know, each episode of my youtube show has a musical number somewhere in the episode! Enjoy!!!
